On the afternoon of June 30, FPNU celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the commendation ceremony was held in the lecture hall of the Science Building. School leaders Lai Hairong, Liao Shenji, Zhang Yi, Chen Zhiyong and Shang Guangmei attended the ceremony. It was hosted by Lin Haifeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU.
The ceremony opened with the majestic national anthem.
Deputy Secretary Lin Haifeng read out the list of “50 Years of Glory” Party members and the list of "Two Excellent and One First" commendation winners in Fujian Province and universities.
The school leaders awarded medals, plaques and certificates to the Party members, advanced groups and outstanding individuals for “50 years of glory” commendation.
Chen Guorong, representative of the Advanced Grassroots Party Organization, and Yu Juan, representative of the outstanding individuals, made speeches.
All participating Party members took a collective oath and recited the Party oath.
Lai Hairong, Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU, delivered a speech. On behalf of the Party Committee, he paid high tribute to the senior members of the Party, warmly congratulated the advanced groups and outstanding individuals, and extended festive greetings to all Communist Party members of FPNU. He reviewed the glorious history of the Communist Party of China in its 100th anniversary, and warmly eulogized the Party’s great achievements.
Secretary Lai demanded that all party members of FPNU should always struggle for development, just like the Chinese Communists at the time of the founding of the Party, always concern about the people, and do their best to promote the development of FPNU and live up to the expectations on education of the society with a never-slackening mind and an unrelenting struggle.
Secretary Lai also pointed out that it is necessary to inspire faith, gain inspiration and develop strength from the study of Party history, deeply understand and accurately grasp General Secretary Xi Jinping's important remarks on education and the practical requirements for the construction of a new Fujian in the new development stage, constantly improve political comprehension, political judgment and political execution. We must be deeply conscious of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership. We must stay confident in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics. We must uphold the core position of the General Secretary on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and uphold the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership. We must fully implement the Party’s education policy. We need to unify the thoughts and actions of all students and teachers according to the decision and deployment of the Party Central Committee, and to gather wisdom and strength according to the goals and tasks set by FPNU, so that we can continuously promote the development of FPNU’s undertakings from a new historical starting point.
Secretary Lai stressed that at present, we are facing bothprecious opportunities anddaunting challenges. So, we need to be morealert to potential dangers, always stay true to the original aspiration and the mission of the Communist Party of China and make relentless efforts to explore and build the path of “the excellent teachers of vocational education and the extraordinary examples of applied technology”. We must be firm in our ideals and beliefs, maintain our absolute loyalty to the party, ensure the overall leadership of the CPC over FPNU and fully implement the educational policy of the CPC. We must study the theoretical knowledge carefully, continue to bear the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era in our deep mind, give top priority to ideological education, and improve ideological and political education in FPNU. We must strengthen our awareness for political responsibility, resolutely shoulder the responsibility of fully exercising strict governance over the Party, carry out the general requirements for Party building in the new era, take the Party political development as the guidance, comprehensively strengthen the building of grass-roots organizations, and pay attention to strengthening the foundation at the grass-roots level. We will give full play to the role of the grass-roots organizations as battle bastions and vanguard role of Party members, and constantly improve the quality of Party building in FPNU. We should keep the original mission in mind, focus on the central work and school orientation, constantly improve the quality of personnel training, practice the fundamental task of establishing moral integrity, and strive to cultivate qualified new generation. We must emancipate our minds, take on the responsibility, take the initiative to serve and integrate into the new development pattern, adhere to the problem-oriented approach, actively solve development problems, rally our strength to tackle difficulties, address inadequacies, and strive to improve the comprehensive strength of FPNU, so that we can make new and greater contributions to the development of our university.
Secretary Lai called on Party organizations at all levels and all Party members in FPNU to unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and further emancipate the mind. We will continue to write a new chapter of Party building and the development of various undertakings in FPNU, and make greater contributionsto the realization of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation.
The ceremony drew to a close with the solemn Internationale.
