Recently, Fujian University Student Sports Association approved to set up a fencing branch in FPNU.

Fencing is a traditional sport with a long history. It is not only played in the Olympic Games, but also in National Games of the PRC and Fujian Provincial Games. The fencing branch of Fujian University Student Sports Association will be developed upon the physical education discipline of FPNU and actively give play to the advantages of the national modern pentathlon training base, a school-enterprise cooperation base established by FPNU and Xiangxing Group. It also aims to promote the development of fencing in Fujian Province through theoretical research, integrated construction of fencing courses, improvement of the overall fencing level, and the popularization of fencing in colleges and universities.

The establishment of the fencing branch in FPNU is a full affirmation of its comprehensive strength and the social influence of its physical education discipline. FPNU will seize the opportunity to promote the “integration of sports and education” and strengthen inter-provincial and inter-university exchanges. The fencing branch will also help develop the fitness activities and sports industry in Fujian.  (School of Physical Education)
