On the morning of September 23rd, presided over by Lin Haifeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of University, the opening ceremony for 2022 freshmen was held in Lesen Track and Field and was broadcast online.
With the national flag rising to the national anthem, the opening ceremony officially started.
Professor Liao Shenji, President of the school, expressed warm welcome and sincere congratulations to the 2022 freshmen. And he introduced the history and goals of our school development.
Liao put forward four hopes to students. Firstly, they should aspire to be determined to make our country strong. Secondly, they should pursue specialty proficiency and down-to-earth manner. Thirdly, they need to cultivate their morality and improve themselves. Eventually, they need to have determination and perseverance to strive and struggle.
Liao encouraged students to let their youth blossom in the college and write the stirring chapter of youth. Taking Fujian Polytechnic Normal University as a new staring point, they should cast the strength of youth and embark on the next beautiful journey.
Professor Zheng Jing, the teacher representative from the School of Foreign Languages, addressed to students with four “C”, namely curiosity, courage, confidence and communication. She encouraged students to maintain curiosity, courage and confidence, strengthen communication, exchange and cooperation, and then start tthe most beautiful journey.
The representatives from a senior undergraduate student, an undergraduate freshman and a post-graduate student addressed enthusiastic speeches respectively.
New students of the School of Overseas Education participated in the opening ceremony through live streaming and praised the school.
