On the morning of September 14, Indonesian Ambassador to China Zhou Haoli (H.E. Djauhari Oratmangun) attended the unveiling and chief consultant appointment ceremony of China-Indonesia Industrial Cooperation Research Center of Fujian Polytechnic Normal University.

       Attendees presented in Fuzhou included Shen Ziling, Chief of Division of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial People's Government, Yang Liqing, Secretary of the Economic Office of the Indonesian Embassy in China, Lin Hongxiu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rongqiao Group, Lai Hairong, Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU, and Liao Shenji, President of FPNU. A parallel session was set in Jakarta. Attendees included Yu Yuling, President of the Indonesian Fujian Association and his wife; Murni Djamal, former Vice President of Al Azhar University and Visiting Professor of FPNU; Wei Fei, General Secretary of the Indonesian Fujian Association; Dr. Yu Wenjuan, Visiting Researcher of FPNU, and Niu Haitao, Dean of the Confucius Institute of Al Azhar University. The meeting was chaired by Shang Guangmei, Vice President of FPNU.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Zhou Haoli, Director Shen Ziling, Secretary Yang Liqing, Chairman Lin Hongxiu, Secretary Lai Hairong and President Liao Shenji jointly unveiled the China Indonesia Industrial Cooperation Research Center of FPNU.

As an important platform and window, the center is to promote the transformation and development, strengthen foreign exchange and cooperation, and provide intellectual support for the construction of China Indonesia "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project. The Center is to actively provide consulting services,  strengthen contacts with domestic and foreign scholars, and carry out scientific research cooperation, so as to promote the long-term, healthy and stable development of China Indonesia relations.

In his speech, Secretary Lai Hairong introduced the basic running situation of FPNU, the progress of the work in serving the construction of the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project, and the working pattern of the center. He pointed out that the establishment of the center is a powerful measure for the school to focus on the integration of resources in all aspects, and to improve the ability to serve the development of China Indonesia relations in the new era. He hopes that, with the support and guidance of the guests, FPNU is to grow and become a pioneer in China Indonesia cooperation and exchange.

Ambassador Zhou Haoli, on behalf of the Indonesian Embassy in China, expressed heartfelt congratulations on the official unveiling of the center and sent good wishes. He pointed out that, the spirit of cooperation would be needed to cope with the challenges in the world today. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China 72 years ago, we have stayed cooperative in various fields, and will still have many cooperation opportunities in the future. He encouraged the newly established research center to cooperate with Indonesian counterparts, bringing substantial progress to further strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and China. He believes that the research center, a think tank, will serve for the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project, and also promote cultural exchanges between Indonesia and China.

President Yu Yuling pointed out that the unveiling of the center is the practice and deepening of the consensus reached by the leaders of China and Indonesia and realized in universities. He appreciated the school running ideas and the practical achievements, and said that the vigorous development of the university and its contributions to cultural exchanges and economic construction between China and Indonesia make overseas Fuqing folks feel extremely proud.

At the chief consultant appointment ceremony, President Liao Shenji read out the appointment letter, and invited President Yu Yuling to serve as the Chief Consultant of the research center.

Professor Murni, on behalf of FPNU, presented the appointment letter to Mr. Yu Yuling at the Jakarta parallel session.

After the ceremony, Ambassador Zhou Haoli was invited to give a speech on “The Latest Situation of China Indonesia Relations” to the teachers and students. He vividly introduced the basic national conditions of Indonesia, systematically sorted through the history of China Indonesia diplomatic relations and the progress of the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project, and shared with us the key work items of Indonesia’s G20 presidency. He pointed out the cooperation opportunities of two countries, and the bright future of the center. He encouraged the young students to work hard on studies, make contributions to the future in-depth exchanges in the economic, cultural and other aspects of the two countries, and together to create a better future.

The speech was warmly welcomed by the online and offline audience. After that, Mr. Lin Hongxiu also shared his views on foreign languages learning. He hoped that students could strive to master language knowledge and skills, care for the homeland and embrace the world, and work for exchanges between China and Indonesia.
