On October 28, Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU Lai Hairong paid a visit to Banxia Cafe, the practice base of students’ entrepreneurship for School of Economics and Management. Along with the entrepreneurial team of Banxia Cafe, Secretary Lai Hairong visited this base with great interest, listening to students’ ideas about entrepreneurship, business operation and pandemic prevention measures as well as the introduction to the design of the functional areas of the base. He also inspected students’ professional learning results, including reception etiquette, table setting and emergency response. In the meantime, Secretary Lai had a cordial conversation with students.

Secretary Lai Hairong praised students’ entrepreneurial practice and spoke highly of the innovative talents training mode and measures made to improve students’ professional skills. He pointed out that Banxia (i.e. Pinellia ternata) not only refers to a common traditional Chinese medicine, but also means the middle of summer in Chinese (here Ban means half and Xia means summer). In addition, Banxia contains beautiful artistic conception, so it often appears in poems, and the middle of summer is the time when students complete their studies and graduate. In a sense, Banxia Cafe is a special place on campus because it embodies relationships between teachers and students, records college time and embraces entrepreneurial dreams. FPNU, especially related offices, should integrate campus resources to actively create conditions to provide students with a good environment for innovation and entrepreneurship and a warm campus climate, so that students develop healthily and happily. He hoped that the entrepreneurial team at Banxia Cafe would make persistent efforts, be brave in innovation, learn and apply professional skills, and promote entrepreneurial achievements. At last he encourages students to enjoy beautiful life in our university and accumulate robust momentum for their futures.

Built as the western food laboratory of Tourism Management and Service Education in 2014, Banxia Cafe can provide training programs, including reception manners, food making, and table setting. It also provides services like freshly ground coffee, freshly made drinks, light meals, and Western food. Its quiet environment and elegant decoration make it a good choice for students to spend their leisure time and do final review. More importantly, it is a stage for student clubs to communicate and show themselves.

Currently, it is mainly operated and managed by the student entrepreneurial team who major in Tourism Management and Service Education.
