On March 30th, Professor Li Yueping, outside director of China Academy of Building Research (CABR), was invited to FPNU. He was Deputy General Manager of Sinohydro Corporation and General Manager of China Aneng Group. He delivered an academic lecture entitled Analysis of Global M&A with PowerChina’s Acquisition of German TLT as a Case to the faculty and students of the School of Economics and Management.
During the lecture, Professor Li Yueping started with PowerChina’s acquisition of German TLT. He described the merger and acquisition (M&A) event and involved risks, explaining the importance of the integration after the M&A. He also introduced the implementation of the “world’s leading wind turbine group” strategy and the corresponding achievements and enlightenment. He shared the experience of Chinese enterprises’ acquisition overseas and the principles that they have been following. Lastly, he encouraged the students to choose to work for state-owned enterprises in the future, integrating their personal career choices with national development strategies so as to pursue life ideals against the background of national development. The lecture was inspiring, which has greatly broadened the students’ horizons. It ended with responsive and warm interaction.
After the lecture, Lai Hairong, secretary of the party committee of FPNU, cordially met with Professor Li Yueping and held a symposium. Secretary Lai first extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Professor Li for his visit, and then briefly introduced the basic situation and development plan of the school. He hoped that Professor Li would put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the professional construction of the school, promoting the construction of academia-industry research cooperation platforms and enhancing the core competitiveness of the majors. Professor Li expressed his affirmation for the school running philosophy. He also said that he would strengthen the cooperation with the colleges and majors of FPNU, providing more internship training and employment opportunities for FPNU graduates.
