Recently, Fujian Provincial Department of Education, Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Fujian Provincial Department of Finance released the list of Fujian's first-class application-oriented universities and main disciplines. Our university was selected as one of the first-class application-oriented universities in Fujian Province, and the two disciplines, including education, biology and medicine, were identified as the main disciplines of first-class application-oriented construction.

Since its independent establishment, our school has been aiming at the national strategies and the needs of regional economic and social development, focusing on the construction of modern vocational education system with Fujian characteristics, focusing on the training of vocational teachers, conducting scientific research and services based on local areas, and boosting regional economic, social and cultural development and technological innovation. Training high-quality applied and technical talents and vocational education teachers needed for the economic and social development of the region has achieved fruitful development and continuously highlighted its characteristics.

During the construction period, in accordance with the Overall Construction Plan for a First-class Application-oriented University in Fujian Province, our University will adhere to the correct direction and local service, take internal construction as the center, improve quality as the main line, and serve economic and social development as the guidance, constantly improve the reform of system and mechanism, innovate the training mode of talents, and improve the ability of social service. We will improve the quality of application-oriented personnel training, comprehensively enhance the core competitiveness and comprehensive strength of the university, and strive to achieve the goal of building a high-level technical normal college with distinctive characteristics.
