On August 22-23, Prof. Sun Shigang and Prof. Xie Suyuan, academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) ,and College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University, came to Fuqing and gave lectures. Teachers and students on behalf of the Research Department, School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, School of Materials and Packaging Engineering, School of Food and Bioengineering, School of Oceanography attended the lectures for learning at the scene.
During the lectures, Academician Sun Shigang made a report themed"Carbon Neutrality and New Energy Development", detailing the reasons, significance and path to the realization of the dual-carbon goal, and elaborating in depth on the development, trend and application of new energy. Academician Xie Suyuan shared the application prospects, cutting-edge technologies and innovative achievements of fullerene in the field of catalysis with the topic of "The upgrading of the Industrial Structure of Carbon Materials and Reflections on Industrial Development".
After the lecture, the teachers and students had an intensive exchange with the two academicians, and sent a warm invitation to the two academicians, looking forward to their visit to FPNU to carry out academic exchanges.
In recent years, FPNU has introduced high-end academic resources to promote the academic and scientific research vision of teachers and students and the development of disciplines. In the future, FPNU will continue to focus on the scientific frontiers of basic research and cross-disciplinary issues. We will also invite experts, and hold high-end academic lectures to cultivate academic capability and promote academic spirit as well as the dissemination of excellent results. We hope to motivate teachers and students to pursue excellence and form strong power to accelerate the construction of first-class application-oriented undergraduate university.
