On the afternoon of September 28th, as the establishment of China-ASEAN dialogue relations drew to its 30th anniversary, Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Fujian Provincial Department of Education jointly hosted the ASEAN- Fujian Universities and Think Tanks Cooperation Forum via online video. President Liao Shenji was invited to attend the Forum and signed the Inter-university cooperation framework agreement with Bogor Agricultural University and IPMI International Business School respectively on behalf of FPNU.

The Forum aims to promote the communication of the universities and think tanks from Fujian and the ASEAN countries, and provides intellectual programs and action support for furthering China-ASEAN communication and cooperation in the post-COVID-19 era, fostering the shared growth of the Belt and Road cooperation with high quality, advancing international cooperation in fighting the pandemic and facilitating the renormalization of social and economic orders. Presenting at the Forum were think tank representatives and relevant principals from ASEAN countries including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand as well as 8 universities of Fujian, including FPNU.

Based on the location advantages, the signing of the cooperation framework agreements is another important measure of FPNU to implement the Belt and Road education action plans, serve and integrate deeply with the new development paradigm, and accelerate international education. As the only university signing cooperation agreements on the Forum, FPNU will ground its efforts in food industry development and give full play to its comparative advantages. It will carry out professional construction, professionals training, scientific research, platform construction, teacher training and personnel training with the contracting parties jointly and offer services for the construction of the Belt and Road and the implementation of China-Indonesian “Two Countries, Twin Parks” Project.
The Forum attracted extensive attention of media. The Chinanews.com published a report with the theme of “Dialogue Online of Fujian and ASEAN Universities and Think Tanks, Two Inter-university Cooperation Framework Agreements Signed” right after the closure of the Forum.
