On May 13, some social science theorists in Fujian Province had a discussion and exchange on learning and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech during his visit to Renmin University of China. Present at the symposium were Zhang Yan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department, heads from the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Education Work Committee, and the Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, and Professor Lai Hairong, Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU.

At the symposium, Professor Lai Hairong exchanged ideas with experts and scholars from Xiamen University, Huaqiao University, Fuzhou University, Fujian Normal University, Party School of the Party Committee of Fujian Province, Fujian Academy of Social Sciences etc., as well as representatives from Fujian Provincial College Students Study Club of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Secretary Lai Hairong said that it is necessary to give full play to the unique role of philosophy of the social sciences in interacting Chinese and foreign cultures and promoting cultural communication. He suggested developing philosophy of the social sciences with Chinese characteristics under the context of interacting Chinese and foreign cultures, writing a splendid chapter of the development of philosophy of the social sciences in Fujian Province under the context of promoting cultural communication, and making the world better understand China with high-quality interpretation and dissemination.
