On the morning of May 13, the Fujian Provincial Vocational Teacher Training Center established by the Education Department of Fujian Province with the support of FPNU was officially unveiled in Fuqing. The event is an on-site occasion supplemented with online links.
Liao Shenji, President of FPNU, briefly introduced the basic situation of FPNU, thoughts on running the school, and the specific measures, advantages and characteristics for serving the vocational education. He said that under the guidance of the Education Department of Fujian Province and with joint efforts of the whole school, FPNU will strengthen the construction of the Center with a high starting point and high standards, giving full play to the comprehensive advantages of positioning, disciplines, and location and coordinating high-quality resources. The focus will be laid on: a) building professional teams with improved management capabilities; b) conducting vocational education research and building training think tanks; c) preparing to build an expert team for better training capacity; d) deepening school-enterprise cooperation in base construction; and e) providing guarantee and service to improve the connotation of training.
FPNU signed a cooperation agreement on the integration of production and education with 5 companies: Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., TPV Electronics (Fujian) Co., Ltd., Ceepower Co., Ltd., Saneheld (Fuqing) Food Co., Ltd. and Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone Culture and Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd. The school and the enterprises will take the Center as a platform and focus on the “four major economies” (Digital Economy, Marine Economy, Green Economy and Culture and Tourism Economy) to carry out cooperation in teacher training, talent training, curriculum co-construction, textbook development, scientific research cooperation, and technical consultation and support.
Chen Mingqing, the first-level inspector of the Education Department of Fujian Province, expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of the Center on behalf of Education Commission of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Education Department of Fujian Province. He pointed out that, as the only undergraduate university in Fujian Province that aims to train vocational teachers, FPNU plays an important role in building a high-quality vocational education system. Drawing on FPNU to set up a provincial vocational teacher training center is a major arrangement made by the Education Commission of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Education Department of Fujian Province to optimize vocational teachers training mechanism, strengthen vocational teacher team construction, and promote the high-quality development of vocational education in Fujian province. It will invigorate the vocational education in Fujian province.
After the unveiling ceremony, the Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development Summit Forum was held. The delegates at the meeting listened to the theme reports such as “In-depth Implementation of ‘the Vocational Education Law’ to Create a New Dimension for the Construction of Teaching Body”, “Deepening the Integration of Industry and Education to Empower Teachers’ Development”, and “The Keys and Paths of High-Quality Development of Vocational Education”. After the reports, the delegates conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the topic of vocational college teacher team construction.
