On May 29, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the First Secondary Vocational Base School for FPNU, and the academic forum of the Ideological Work Committee of Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League were held in Fujian Polytechnic School. Attendees included Liu Jian, member of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, member of the Party leadership group and Deputy Director of the Education Department of Fujian Province, Liao Shenji, President of FPNU, Chen Zhiyong, Vice President of FPNU, Lin Suchuan, Director of the Vocational Education and Adult Education Division of the Provincial Education Department, Gongsen, Director of the Provincial Vocational Education Center, and Jiang Guofen, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Fujian Polytechnic School. The meeting was held online and offline. Representatives of vocational education research experts, leaders of some higher vocational colleges in Fujian, representatives of member units of the Provincial Vocational Education Teacher Development League and enterprise representatives participated in relevant activities.

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on vocational education, and implement the Vocational Education Law, FPNU gives full play to its positioning as the only university in Fujian aiming to train vocational education teachers, and establishes the secondary vocational base school. FPNU will comprehensively guide and support Fujian Polytechnic School, the base school, to accelerate the high-quality development and strive to create an innovative, exemplary leading vocational education development model with Fujian characteristics. After the unveiling, FPNU will co-ordinate personnel to improve the education and teaching level of the base school. And Fujian Polytechnic School will provide internship and training positions for students of relevant majors in FPNU to help them improve their abilities.

At the ceremony, Liu Jian made a speech. He pointed out that vocational education has a broad future and promising prospects. He hopes that the two universities would take this as the starting point, give full play to their respective resource advantages and school running characteristics, and better serve the regional economic and social development and the high-quality development of vocational education. He made three demands. First, we should integrate ideological education in the whole process of talent training, and guide students to develop good professional ethics, professionalism and behavioral habits. Second, we should deepen reform and work hard to improve the quality of talent training. We should coordinate high-quality resources, make efforts to enhance the quality of vocational education teachers. Third, we should make efforts to lead the high-quality development of vocational education. We should explore ways to effectively promote the high-quality development of modern vocational education by promoting the integration of industry and education.

Liao Shenji, President of FPNU and Chairman of Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League, delivered a speech. He said that with the strong support of Provincial Department of Education, FPNU is vigorously promoting the construction of the Provincial Vocational Teacher Training Center, the Provincial Vocational Teacher Development League, affiliated schools, base schools, and cooperative schools, striving to promote the establishment of a vocational education development system of talents cultivation, teachers training and resources sharing, so as to help the high-quality development of Fujian Vocational Education. He pointed out that FPNU will fully support the development of the base school, and try to build a "Fujian model" of modern education system with Chinese characteristics. He hoped that the base school would seize the opportunity to play a leading role in the reform and development of secondary vocational education in Fujian Province and make new and greater contribution to the economic and social development of Fujian.

Jiang Guofen, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Fujian Polytechnic School, said that Fujian Polytechnic School will actively explore new ways for the development of vocational education, and better serve the regional economic and social development.

      Chen Zhiyong, Vice President of FPNU, and Jiang Guofen, President of Fujian Polytechnic School, signed the base school agreement on behalf of both sides respectively.

Liaoshenji presented the letter of appointment of visiting professor to Jiang Guofen.

After the ceremony, the academic forum of the Ideological Work Committee of Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League opened. Participants  held in-depth discussions on the topics of Co-Construction of  ideological courses between undergraduate colleges and secondary  vocational colleges, and strengthening moral education in secondary  vocational colleges. Professor Chen Zhiyong, Vice president of FPNU, Director of Fujian Vocational Teacher Training Center and Vice President of Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League, made wonderful comments and summaries.
