The "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project between China and Indonesia is a new flagship project linking China's "One Belt and One Road" initiative and Indonesia's "Global Marine pivot" concept, and it is an innovative platform to promote two-way investment cooperation. As the only university located in the Chinese side of "Two Countries, Twin Parks", Fujian Polytechnic Normal University has closely connected with the development needs of the project in recent years, and has actively provided intellectual and talent support for the service for the construction of the park with the following five main focus.
Establish one joint R&D center. The Fujian Indonesia Marine Food Joint Research and Development Center was jointly built by the FPNU, Bogor Agricultural University and other universities in Indonesia.
Set up a think tank. In the first phase, 18 school level scientific research projects, including the Research on China Indonesia Digital Economy Cooperation Based on the RCEP Agreement, were set up to conduct research, and strive to provide intellectual support for the construction of the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project from the think tank.
Establish several cooperative relationships. The university has signed cooperation agreements with 10 universities or organizations, including Bogor Agricultural University of Indonesia, Jakarta National University, Jakarta Chinese Language Education Coordination Agency, Indonesian Federation of Fujian Associations, and International Daily Newspaper Group.
Establish a team of foreign experts. At present, FPNU has employed 2 Indonesian foreign teachers, 9 part-time professors or visiting researchers. Many Indonesian high-level scholars with PhDs of food professionals and language education talents have reached employment intentions with FPNU.
Prepare for an Indonesian Language Major. In March, 2022, FPNU officially opened the Indonesian language course, with 170 students taking the course and nearly 30 teachers participating in the study as reserve teachers. At the same time, FPNU officially applied to the provincial education department for the first "Indonesian" undergraduate major in the province.
