FPNU Held a Special Meeting about the Construction of “Two Countries, Twin Parks” Between China and Indonesia and Set up a Special Working Group

On April 7th, Secretary of FPNU Party Committee Lai Hairong presided at a special meeting about the construction of “Two Countries, Twin Parks” between China and Indonesia. Vice Presidents Shang Guangmei and Jiang Xingshan attended the meeting as well as the heads of the departments like Party and Administration Office, Department of Development Planning, Academic Affairs Office, Office of Scientific and Research Development, Infrastructure Office, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Economics and Management, School of Food and Bioengineering, and School of Overseas Education.

  


 


Relevant officials reported the work on the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” between China and Indonesia that had been carried out in the early stage, including the land acquisition and project design of Yuanhong Campus of FPNU, the construction of scientific research platforms such as Fujian Province-Indonesia Marine Food Joint Research and Development Center and Sino-Indonesia Industrial Cooperation Research Center, the construction of provincial Yuanhong Food Industry College, building an innovation team for food nutrition and health, seeking cooperation with Indonesia International Food Science and Technology Alliance and universities, introduction of high-level professionals in the field of Indonesian food, the construction of Indonesian language major, and the layout of colleges and disciplines at Yuanhong Campus.

Vice Presidents Shang and Jiang provided detailed guidance on relevant work.

Party Secretary Lai Hairong made a speech. He pointed out the necessity to further improve the initiative at work, to strengthen the communication and coordination with the industrial park, and to focus on the ecological food and health industry clustering and the integrated development of “science, industry and trade” in the park. He also said that FPNU would contribute to the development of the industrial park by pooling and coordinating its resources to improve the university layout and professional development, construct innovation platforms, think tanks, and national laboratories, introduce high-level Indonesian professionals, and recruit international students. He stressed that we should actively promote infrastructure construction, accelerating the purchase and delivery of the 140-mu land (about 9.33 hectares) involved in the first phase of the project and advancing the project design so as to break ground and put into use as early as possible.

At the meeting, FPNU decided to set up a special working group responsible for “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project between China and Indonesia. The principal leaders of the university shall be the group leaders, while the deputy leaders shall be the deputy group leaders. Relevant departments and colleges shall cooperate to comprehensively promote the work. The office of the special working group is located in the Party and Administration Office.
