On the morning of November 13th,the cadres’ meeting of FPNU was held at the Academic Lecture Hall of Science Building.Lin Heping, Secretary of the Educational Work Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Group of the Provincial Education Departmentand chief of the Provincial Education Department, and Chen Xueping, Vice Minister of Organization Department of Provincial Party Committee, attended the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Comrade Lin Heping. Vice Minister Chen Xueping read out the notice of Fujian Provincial Party Committee on the establishment of Party Committee of FPNU and the decision on the appointment and removal of cadres. The notice decides to set up Party Committee of FPNU and Commission for Discipline Inspection. The Party Committee of FPNU consists of five comrades, including Lai Hairong, Liao Shenji, Lin Haifeng, Zhang Yi and Chen Zhiyong. Comrade Lai Hairong was appointed the Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU. Comrade Liao Shenji was appointed the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean. Comrade Lin Haifeng was appointed the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee. Comrade Zhang Yi was appointed the member of the Party Committee, Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection and Ombudsman. Comrade Chen Zhiyong was appointed the member of the Party Committee andDeputy Dean. Comrade Chen Qinghua, Deputy Secretary and member of the Party Committee and president of Fuqing branch of Fujian Normal University,was removed from his original spot and appointed another position.
Vice Minister Chen Xueping addressed the meeting. In his speech, he commended the achievements made in school work and put forward four requirements for the construction of new school team and the development of school career. Initially, we should improve our political standing and unify our thoughts and actions into the decisions of the Provincial Party Committee. Subsequently, it’s of paramount importance to determine exactly our school-running orientation and persist in carrying out the basic task of establishing morality and cultivating people. Besides, it can’t be denied that we ought to give prominence to key points of development and actively promote the development of school connotation. The fourth point is that we must adhere to strict implementation, and vigorously strengthen the leadership and cadre talent team-building.
Comrade Liao Shenji made the statement that we must firmly support the decision of theProvincial Party Committee and implement the requirements for school work of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government and Education Commission of Provincial Party Committee andProvincial Department of Education. To translate this into actions, weare supposed to stress politics and firmly grasp socialist orientation for running a school in the firstplace. Secondly, we must attach importance to study and constantly improve our ability to runourschool. The third point isthat weare required to take responsibility and strive to promote the reform and development oftheschool. Last but not least, weought to stick to strict discipline and maintain a clean and honest image at all times.
Comrade Lai Hairong made a statement that he fully supported and resolutely obeyed the decision of the Provincial Party Committee, and said that in the future, under the correct leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and on the solid foundation laid by the successive teams of Fuqing Branch of Fujian Normal University, he will take root in the school and work hand in hand with other cadres, teachers and students to steadily promote the development of various causes of FPNU. To translate that into actions, first, we are supposed to study to how to stress politics in depth; second, we ought to faithfully perform our duties to promote development; third, we should be strict with ourselves to set an example. We should not forget the original aspirations of fostering virtue, keep in mind the mission of educating people for the party and the country, and make every effort to write a new chapter of the reform and development of FPNU in China's new era.
Comrade Lin Heping made a speech, in which he pointed out that the FPNU leadership body fully reflects the importance and concern of the Provincial Party Committee and the Organization Department of Provincial Party Committee to FPNU, mirrors the future mission and opportunities of FPNU, symbolize a major event in the development and political life of FPNU, and marks the new developemnt stage of FPNU. All cadres, teachers and students of FPNU should earnestly implement the Provincial Party Committee's decision with an intense sense of political responsibility, fully support the work of the new team with a more positive attitude and solid style of work, and work together to promote the reform and development of FPNU. He put forward three opinions on the team building and career development of FPNU. First, we must clarify the goal and work hard to open up new prospects for the development of FPNU. It is necessary to find the appropriate school-running position, plan the future scientifically, gather the consensus of faculty and students, and thus building FPNU into a high-level technical normal college with distinctive characteristics. Second, we must properly grasp the three "potentials" and make a good judgement on the opportunities and challenges in the reform and development of FPNU. It is necessary to further free the mind, adhere to seeking truth from facts, recognize the situation, give full play to advantages, overcome disadvantages, concentrate on achieving key breakthroughs, and do better in striving to promote high-quality development in all aspects of service with high-quality, in-depth, and leading reform and development. Third, we must highlight the three "degrees", and endeavor to improve the quality and level of schooling. Base on the strategic goals of optimizing the type and structure of higher education in Fujian Province and promoting social and economic development, we should clarify the development ideas of the guidance position, establish and improve the management system and operating mechanism suitable for undergraduates, lift the height, increase the brightness, broaden the depth, so as to make our own contribution to the bulding of the modern vocational education system with Fujian characteristics.
