On the afternoon of October 11th, the reappointment inauguration ceremony of Asep Saefuddin, president of Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia, was held in Jakarta. President Liao Shenji was invited to attended the ceremony via virtual conference. A minister of Indonesia cabinet and dozens of university presidents from various countries and regions also presented at the ceremony.

    President Liao had previously sent a congratulatory letter to President Asep Saefuddin on his reappointment. He pointed out that the two universities enjoyed special connections, although the cooperation had just begun. He hopes that the two universities can strengthen communication and cooperation, and implement the cooperation framework agreement,, thus deepening the educational and people-to-people exchanges between China and Indonesia, and making contributions to the development of the Belt and Road.

    In August this year, we officially signed a cooperation framework agreement with Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia. We will launch cooperation in the fields of food technology, nutrition and health, and etc., and promote exchange visits of teachers and students, exchange programs, mutual recognition of courses, scientific research cooperation, and platform construction, to serve the development of the Belt and Road and the implementation of China-Indonesian “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project.
