On November 20th, the founding conference of Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League was held in Fuqing. Liu Jian, member of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director (Bureau-Director level) of the Department of Education of Fujian Province, Huang Ling, member of The United Front Work Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Party Group of Fujian Chinese Vocational Education Society, Ye Renyou, member of the Standing Committee of Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and Secretary of Fuqing Municipal Committee of the CPC, Lai Hairong, Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU, Liao Shenji, President of FPNU, and other leaders and experts attended the meeting. The principals of 105 secondary vocational schools within Fujian province, heads of relevant departments of the Education Department of Fujian Province and FPNU, as well as business representatives attended the founding conference. The meeting was chaired by Chen Zhiyong, Vice President of FPNU.
As a regional vocational education development community, Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League will be committed to strengthening the diversified cooperation among schools, government, enterprises and society, and actively coordinate and integrate multiple resources to build the platform for teacher training and growth, the platform of exploration and innovation in talent-cultivating model, the platform for developing and sharing of high-quality resources, and the service support platform for teacher development. Hence its member institutions can enjoy mutual complementarity and resource sharing in information, teachers, technology, teaching, internship and various bases, and grow larger and stronger in a spirit of win-win cooperation and common development, so as to promote the creation of a modern vocational education paradigm with Fujian characteristics. Up to now, the League has absorbed 110 member institutions, including 5 enterprises and higher education institutions, and 105 secondary vocational schools. The secretariat is set up in FPNU.

Lai Hairong, Secretary of the Party Committee of FPNU, pointed out in his speech that FPNU is the only provincial university in Fujian Province that is positioned to train teachers for vocational education . It mainly cultivates high-quality applied and technical talents, and vocational education teachers needed for regional economic and social development. He said that, in order to enhance the adaptability of vocational education, accelerate the construction of the modern vocational education system, and train more high-quality skilled talents and craftsmen for the nation, it is the key to build high-quality and professional teachers for vocational education. Only by improving the quality and ability of these teachers, can the high-quality development of vocational education be realized. The establishment of the League will be conducive to the realization of multiple coordination and to the promotion of the training of "craftsman teacher". He hopes that, under the guidance of the Education Department of Fujian Province, the League can effectively play its role and contribute wisdom and show responsibility, so that it can accelerate the construction of a modern vocational education system with Fujian characteristics, contribute to comprehensive promotion of high-quality development and transcendence for New Fujian, and strive to write the Fujian chapter in the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.
On behalf of Fuqing Municipal Party Committee and Fuqing Government, Secretary of the Fuqing Municipal Committee of the CPC Ye Renyou expressed his warm congratulations on the establishment of the League. He said that Fuqing is a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese, a national civilized city, and one of the top 100 counties and cities in China. The construction and development of Fuqing and the progress of vocational education complement each other and are mutually beneficial. Fuqing Municipal Party Committee and Fuqing Government will take the establishment of the League as an opportunity to support and serve the orderly operation of the League, support and serve the League initiator FPNU for the school running and boost the integration and interaction of vocational education and high-quality development. He expects that the member schools of the League will continue to pay attention to Fuqing, support Fuqing, help Fuqing, send more and better high-quality talents and skilled craftsmen to Fuqing, and jointly create a grand cause that promotes high-quality development and transcendence in an all-round way.
Huang Ling, Secretary of the Party Group of Fujian Chinese Vocational Education Society, pointed out that FPNU is the only undergraduate university within Fujian province that trains teachers for vocational education, and the establishment of the Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League initiated by FPNU is an irresistible trend, the need of the society, the will of the people, and the strength of FPNU. She said that Fujian Chinese Vocational Education Society will further perform its role as a bridge, unite all forces that are engaged in vocational education, and that care and support the development of vocational education within Fujian province, and provide support and help for the League to create a new situation in its work.
She hopes Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League will have a strengthening contact and communication with Vocational Education Society, so that cooperation and exchanges in teacher training, theoretical research, competition activities and other aspects can be developed to help promote the construction of a modern vocational education system with Fujian characteristics, and provide talents and skill support for “Fujian intelligent manufacturing” and “Fujian creation”.
In his speech, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Fujian Province Liu Jian stressed that the establishment of the provincial League is of great significance for strengthening the construction of vocational education teaching staff, comprehensively improving the quality and ability of “double qualified” teachers, accelerating the construction of a modern vocational education system with Fujian characteristics, and promoting the “scale expansion, quality improvement and status promotion” of vocational education. He put forward three ardent expectations for the development of the League. First, we should concentrate on talent training and accelerate the development of vocational teacher education. Second, we should strengthen resource sharing and fully play the role of bridge and belt. Third, we should constantly explore and innovate, and build a high-level education league. He hopes that FPNU, as the leading institution of the Vocational Education Teacher Development League, will play a exemplary and leading role, and carefully organize the member institutions to carry out academic exchanges and discussions, review the reform experience, refine innovation achievements, and radiate to drive the reform and innovation of local vocational colleges, so as to make positive contributions to build a high-quality and professional “double qualified” teaching team, and construct a high-quality vocational education system with Fujian characteristics.
After the unveiling, Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League held its first general meeting. The Charter of Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League was voted and adopted in the meeting, and directors, executive directors, vice chairman and chairman of the League were elected. Four committees, including Ideological and Political Work Committee, Specialty Construction Guiding Committee, Internship and Training Committee and Academic Research Committee were simultaneously established. President Liao Shenji was elected as the Chairman, and Vice President Chen Zhiyong Gong Sen, Director of Fujian Vocational and Technical Education Center, Lin Junbiao, President of Fujian Industrial School, Jiang Guofen, President of Fujian Polytechnic School, Zhuang Minqi, President of Xiamen Industrial-Commercial &Tourism school (affiliated school of FPNU), and Luo Shiqin, President of Fujian Sanming Agricultural School were elected as Vice Chairmen.
In the speech, Chairman Liao Shenji pointed out that the League, as a collaborative and innovative organization for the development of vocational education teachers, and voluntarily formed by vocational schools and enterprises in relevant industries in the province, undertakes the important mission of serving and leading vocational education teaching staff in Fujian. We should adapt to the new situation, new tasks and new requirements, fully support the decision and deployment related to the development of vocational education in our province, connect with The Action Plan for the High-quality Development of Vocational Education in Fujian Province, serve the improvement of teachers' ability in vocational colleges, promote the quality of vocational education, and help build a high-quality vocational education system with Fujian characteristic. He said that in the future, the League will focus on promoting the joint cultivation of vocational teachers and the improvement of teachers’ quality, the co-construction of renowned majors, the co-sharing of scientific research projects, the joint organization of skill competitions, the co-expansion of practical channels and the advancing of government governance research, so as to explore the paradigm of “Fujian Vocational Education” with cultural characteristics of Fujian and Taiwan Provinces, facilitate the high-quality development of vocational education in Fujian and make unremitting efforts to accelerate the formation of “Fujian experience” for the development of vocational education.
