Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League was established on November 20th and the first general meeting was held on the same day.
Initiated by Fujian Polytechnic Normal University (FPNU) and under the support and guidance of The Education Department of Fujian Province, Fujian Vocational Education Teacher Development League is jointly and voluntarily formed by government agencies, secondary vocational schools and industrial enterprises. It is an open, non-profit and unincorporated collaborative innovation organization for the development of vocational education teachers, including four special committees: Ideological and Political Work Committee, Specialty Construction Guiding Committee, Internship and Training Committee and Academic Research Committee, which will carry out work on six areas: teacher training, specialty construction guidance, ideological and political work research, student internship and training, academic research and competition organization.
According to statistics, in 2020, there were 166 secondary vocational schools (excluding skilled workers schools) in Fujian province, with 17,004 full-time teachers, and the proportion of teachers to students was 19.56:1. According to the objectives settled in the special plan for education development in the 14th Five-Year Plan of Fujian, the number of secondary vocational school students in our province will increase from 358,100 to 470,000 by 2025.
As a regional vocational education development community, the League is committed to filling the gap of full-time vocational teachers in the province by strengthening diversified cooperation among schools, governments, enterprises and society. It will actively coordinate and integrate multiple resources to build a platform for training teachers, exploring innovative talent cultivation models, jointly developing and sharing high-quality resources, and providing service and support for teacher development. Hence its members can enjoy mutual complementarity and resource sharing in information, teachers, technology, teaching, internship and various bases, and grow larger and stronger in a spirit of win-win cooperation and common development, so as to promote the creation of a modern vocational education paradigm with Fujian characteristics.
At present, the League has attracted 110 members, including 5 enterprises and higher education institutions, and 105 secondary vocational schools. The Secretariat is set up in Fujian Polytechnic Normal University (FPNU).
