On March 23rd, President Chen Qinghe of Shih Hsin University (SHU) led a delegation to visit FPNU. Secretary of FPNU Party Committee Lai Hairong received them warmly and held a symposium. The meeting attendees also included Vice President of SHU and Director of Cross-Strait Affairs Li Gongqin, Director of the Cross-Strait Affairs Office Lin Xuezhen, Vice President of FPNU Chen Zhiyong, and the heads of the Party and Administration Office, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, and the School of Culture, Media and Law of FPNU.
After they watched the promotional video of FPNU together, Vice President Chen Zhiyong introduced the overall situation of our school and the exchange and cooperation with Taiwan.
President Chen Qinghe expressed his appreciation and affirmation of FPNU’s school-running level and prospect. He also introduced the current cooperation between the SHU and the universities in the Chinese Mainland. At last, he expressed his welcome and expectation for FPNU teachers and students to go to the SHU for academic visits.
Secretary Lai Hairong mainly introduced the planning of FPNU campuses and school-running characteristics. He said that FPNU would implement Fujian Provincial Party Secretary Zhou Zuyi’s instructions at his meeting with President Chen Qinghe in Fuzhou, introduce special measures to facilitate further cooperation between sister schools such as exchanges and cooperation in humanities and social sciences like journalism, so as to achieve common development and progress.
Before the symposium, President Chen Qinghe, Vice President Li Gongqin, and Director Lin Xuezhen had liaison meetings with the School of Culture, Media and Law, School of Economics and Management, and School of Foreign Languages of FPNU. They had an in-depth exchange in a warm ambience.
Previously, FPNU had signed a sister university cooperation agreement mainly on the media discipline with the SHU and deepened exchanges and cooperation in higher education between Fujian and Taiwan in terms of teacher training and student exchange programs, publication of school-based teaching materials, and sharing of educational achievements. On the occasion of FPNU’s 45th anniversary, President Chen Qinghe recorded a special video to extend his best wishes, hoping that our cooperation could proceed with full vigor.
