On the afternoon of March 22, Youth Talents Seminar and a Training Session for New Teachers themed "Study the 20th CPC National Congress and Forge Ahead on a New Journey" was held in the Academic Lecture Hall in FPNU. Lai Hairong, Secretary of FPNU, attended the seminar and delivered a speech. Chen Zhiyong, Vice President of FPNU, presided over the seminar. All PhDs, staff ( employed since 2018) and the youth cadres attended the seminar.
Secretary Lai Hairong gave an in-depth explanation on the spirit of 20th CPC National Congress based on the development plan of FPNU and the actual situation of young talents, providing ideas and guidance for young talents in our school to deeply understand and accurately grasp the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. He analyzed the development trend of FPNU from provincial government’s focus and support, as well as the increasing influence and progress of FPNU. He drew a blueprint of the high-quality development of the school, and provided guidance for young talents’ plan and direction. He hoped that young faculty members would strengthen their confidence, identify their positions, transform their thinking pattern, focus on learning, broaden their horizons, and forge ahead. They would take full advantage of the school, actively respond to the needs of all enterprise and industrial development, and integrate personal career development into the overall development of the school's career. All staff should not only fulfill the sacred mission of fostering morality and cultivating people, but also accumulate sufficient energy for future development. We are working together to build FPNU into an application-oriented normal university with distinctive characteristics.
During the seminar, Professor Zhao Zhoumin from the School of Culture, Media and Law, Associate Professor Xie Yanzhao from the School of Food and Bioengineering, and Dr. Zhang Mingwen from the School of Materials and Environmental Engineering respectively put forward suggestions on issues that young teachers concern, such as talent cultivation, faculty construction, high-level talents work, and new campus planning. Secretary Lai Hairong listened carefully to the teachers' statements and gave answers with patience.
When summarizing, Vice President Chen Zhiyong hoped that teachers would love their profession, students, schools, and education. They should learn, so as to instruct others; act, to serve as example to all. They would grow together with students, develop together with FPNU, and progress together with the times.
Learning Reflection
After listening to Secretary Lai Hairong's report, I am deeply inspired and excited. I am not only extremely proud of the school's current mission of cultivating vocational education teachers for the Party, but also excited to devote myself to the magnificent blueprint of building a high level appilication-oriented university. Secretary Lai encouraged young teachers to closely integrate their career development prospects with our school's position in the national and provincial higher education system. As a young teacher, I will conscientiously implement the fundamental task of fostering students’ virtue through education, closely focus on the development needs of regional industries, actively serve the construction of China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Innovation Development Demonstration Region, strengthen applied research and achievement transformation, and strive to be a "dual-qualification and dual-ability" educator, and cultivate high-quality applied talents. Through this seminar, I learn about the past and future development trend of our school, and deeply feel the school's concern and importance for the cultivation of young talents.
