Recently, Fuqing Municipal Government has officially approved the land use of 95,700 square meters (about 145 mu) for the phase I construction of the new campus of FPNU in Chengtou Town, Fuqing City.
With 249 mu of land added to the southern area of Wumashan Campus in September this year, the total area of the Campus has reached more than 1,000 mu. This approval marks our school’s enlargement in size and improvement in quality. Simultaneously, it marks that the project of Yuanhong Campus has entered a substantive stage. Currently, the total area of our school amounts to nearly 1,200 mu, laying a solid foundation for the construction of a high-level polytechnic normal university with distinctive characteristics.
Located in the core area of China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project, Yuanhong Campus is planned to cover 552 mu, including 420 mu in the first phase. The approved 145 mu is for the start-up construction with a building area of about 60,000 square meters and an expected accommodation of 3,000 students. With the Feasibility Study Report completed, the project is included in 2024 FPNU construction plan and is being revised in accord with the overall scheme of China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Parks”.
Since the launch of China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Parks”, provincial committee, government and departments have attached great importance to serving the talent industry in the parks. The construction of Yuanhong Campus is strongly supported by Fuzhou and Fuqing governments. Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce has proposed to support the construction of Yuanhong Campus and promote the deep integration of industry and education when issuing a provincial special policy on the construction of the demonstration park for China-Indonesia economic and trade innovative development at the Fuzhou International Investment and China-Indonesia "Two Countries and two Parks" Promotion Conference. As the only application-oriented undergraduate university in Fuqing, where the Chinese park of "Two Countries and two Parks" is located, our school will make strenuous efforts in personnel training, scientific research, social services and cultural exchanges and other aspects, take more active response to the needs of regional development and enhance the integration of industry, academia and research in Fuqing as it seeks mutual benefits and shared development in China-Indonesian “Two Countries Twin Parks ” project.
