On the afternoon of November 18th, Professor Fasri, former Deputy Minister of Education of Indonesia and President of Yarsi University, visited FPNU. The Education and Culture Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy in China, Mr.Yudil Chatim accompanied the visit. The Secretary of FPNU Party Committee Lai Hairong, had a cordial meeting with Professor Fasri. Vice President Jiang Xingshan, relevant officials from Office of Party and Government Affairs, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Foreign Languages, and School of Overseas Education, participated in the relevant activities.
Secretary Lai Hairong warmly welcomed President Fasri's visit on behalf of FPNU. He briefly introduced the development of the school operation, and the cooperation and exchange with various sectors in Indonesia in recent years. He pointed out that FPNU, as the only provincial undergraduate university located in the Chinese park of the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project, is actively leveraging its regional and resource advantages, deepening exchanges and cooperation with Indonesia, and better serving and integrating with the construction of the project. He hopes to strengthen the cooperation with the University of Yarsi, with a focus on conducting exchanges and visits among teachers and students in majors such as economics and finance, international economics and trade, law and psychology, to jointly promote educational exchange and cooperation between China and Indonesia.
President Fasri introduced the educational situation and well-known majors of Yarsi University. He expressed his hope that through this visit, the exchanges of both sides, the mutual recognition of credit, as well as the scientific research cooperation would be further promoted so as to serve the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" project in China and Indonesia. He proposed that both sides would jointly hold online academic seminars on the themes such as improving the legal environment for the development of China Indonesia economic and trade relations, and jointly carry out various forms of student cultural exchange projects such as establishing cross-cultural community development centers.
The attendees from both sides fully discussed the matters related to cooperation and exchange, and reached an intention of signing a memorandum of cooperation.
