8 Students from the Class of 2026 majoring in Culinary and Nutrition Education will go to Hanshan Normal University for study and exchange in the fall of 2024
On the morning of August 30th, First Batch of Students to Hanshan Normal University Exchange Forum was held in the Conference Room 1 inWumashan campus, FPNU. Lai Hairong, the Secretary of FPNU Party Committee, kindly communicated with students. Persons in charge and representatives of teachers from Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Student Work, and School of Food and Bioengineering attended the meeting.
During the meeting, students expressed their expectation for the life of exchange, showing the courage and good spirit to forge ahead and face challenge.
Secretary Lai Hairong expressed best wishes to students. He pointed out that, the exchange program was one of the most important approaches to innovate application-oriented talent training mode and improving the quality of undergraduate talents training. It was the first time for FPNU to select and send excellent students to exchange and study in high-quality universities. He encouraged students to cherish the exchange opportunity, completing learning tasks carefully under the premise of safety, actively participating different activities, making friends who had the same goal, experiencing the culture of Chaoshan, trying to having mastery of new learning methods, and laying a solid foundation for being an outstanding culinary talent in the new era. The relevant persons in charge from Office of Academic Affairs, and School of Food and Bioengineering respectiveely introduced the development of exchange program for students majoring in Culinary and Nutrition Education, and the situation of receiving and delivery. In addition, they explained in detail the matters of student status management, requirements of course selection, and credit transfer during the exchange study. During the meeting, the school presented the eight students school bags to encourage students to pursue excellence and succeed in studies. The exchange program was the first exchange between the two universities after the establishment of the strategic partnership of FPNU and Hanshan Normal University. According to the specific situation of the two schools’ major settings, the connecting of training program, and the full consideration of the adaptability and challenge of students’ study, FPNU selected students majoring in Culinary and Nutrition Education of 2022 as the first batch to carry out the exchange work, including 5 students from the first batch of “Excellent Vocational Teaching Experimental Class” of FPNU. The two sides implemented the exchange program in order to build a connection of exchange and cooperation between Fujian cuisine and Teochew cuisine, further promoting exchange and cooperation of multi-party food culture, and training high-quality culinary vocational education. In the future, FPNU will gradually carry out the exchange work for undergraduates, spreading the scale of inter-provincial students and creating more opportunities of exchange for students.
