On the afternoon of June 10, The Appointment Ceremony of the consultant of Research Center for Japanese Studies & The Academic Exchange Conference was held in FPNU, engaging Professor Kimura Katsuhiko, Vice Principal of Nagasaki International University, as the consultant of FPNU Research Center for Japanese Studies. Lai Hairong, Secretary of FPNU Party Committee and Director of the Research Center for Japanese Studies, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Attendees of the conference included relevant superintendents and representatives of teachers and students from the Party and Administration Office, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Research Center for Japanese Studies, School of Foreign Languages, and School of Education.
In his speech, Secretary Lai Hairong reviewed the progress of cooperation between the two universities since the second half of last year on joint research focusing on the majors of social welfare and home economics, as well as realms of Sino-Japanese economy, trade, culture,etc. He also expressed congratulations on the recently signed memorandum of cooperation between the two universities. The two sides jointly displayed the memorandum of cooperation online. Secretary Lai Hairong expressed his heartfelt thanks to Vice Principal Kimura Katsuhiko for being engaging as the consultant of FPNU Research Center for Japanese Studies. On behalf of FPNU, Secretary Lai Hairong sincerely invited Vice Principal Kimura and colleagues from Nagasaki International University to visit FPNU for exchanges after the pandemic.
Mr. Chen Jian, Chairman of Nippon Fukutomo Co., Ltd. issued the letter of appointment as a consultant to Vice Principal Kimura Katsuhiko on behalf of Director Lai Hairong.
Kimura Katsuhiko said in his speech that he was very honored to be engaged as a consultant of the Research Center for Japanese Studies, that he was very grateful to FPNU and Director Lai Hairong for their trust and that he will do his best to support theresearch work of the Center.
After the appointment ceremony, Professor Kimura gave an academic report titled Impressions of Chinese Culture in Japan: From the Perspective of Modern Nagasaki to members of the Research Center for Japanese Studies and teachers and students of the Japanese major of the School of Foreign Languages.
