On June 12, 2022, the Fujian undergraduate English major group of the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press's "Star Teacher" contest was successfully held in FPNU. The teaching team from the School of Foreign Languages (Yan Bihong, Xiao Jing, Liu Ling, Yu Dan and Ge Xiaotong), performed well and won the championship, and will represent Fujian Province in the national final. FPNU was awarded as the "Excellent Organization Award". In the previous contest for college English group, another teaching team (Ge Xiaotong, Zheng Xiufang, Chen Shenglinyang and Liu Mengting) won the third prize.

        In the contest for English major group, the teaching team , dug deep into the teaching materials, optimized teaching design according to the characteristics of FPNU’s talent training, and integrated knowledge transfer, skill development and character building. With elaborate teaching design, brilliant teaching demonstration and excellent answers to the questions, FPNU teachers' solid teaching skills and professionalism were highlighted, winning high praise from the expert judges.

   The "Star Teacher" contest is co-organized by the National Foreign Languages Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, the National Research Center of Foreign Language Education of Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, and is one of the largest teaching competitions for foreign language teachers in China.
