Recently, the Education Department of Fujian Province and Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology announced the first batch of 21 provincial-level modern industrial college construction projects. Yuanhong Food Industry College of FPNU was successfully selected.
Yuanhong Food Industry College was founded in 2017. The college relies on the majors of Food and Bioengineering, Bioengineering, Cooking and Nutrition Education, and Yuanhong International Food Industrial Park in Fuqing City, Fujian Province. Focusing on the whole industrial chain of food, it serves the China-Indonesia project of “Two Countries Twin Parks”. Through the in-depth integration of industry, academia and research, it manages to cultivate high-quality applied talents that meet the needs of enterprises and industries, and provide technology and talent support for the food industry along the “Belt and Road”.
In the next step, FPNU will follow the “Overall Plan for the Construction of Fujian Modern Industry Colleges”, and build the college into one that has multiple functions, such as talent training, scientific research, technological innovation, corporate services, and student entrepreneurship. To achieve the goal, FPNU will continue adhering to the principle that student cultivation and development takes priority, keeping abreast of the industry, and strengthening discipline construction and practicum training.
At the same time, FPNU will follow the industrial layouts of Fujian Province, Fuzhou City, and Fuqing City when it strives to set a talent training paradigm that students are cultivated with joint forces from academia, industry and research. To accomplish the purpose, FPNU will continue promoting the integration between industry and education to cultivate high-quality applied and technical talents and vocational teachers. During the process, it is hoped that the construction of Yuanhong Food Industry College and school-level industrial colleges will serve as a driving force that leads FPNU to a first-class application-oriented university.
