The Study on Huangbo Culture written by Professor Liao Shenji, President of FPNU and Dean of Huangbo Culture and Maritime Silk Road Research Institute, was officially collected by the National Library of China. The book was given to the library as a present by Zheng Songbo, Vice President of the Fuqing Huangbo Culture Promotion Association.

As the first book in China that systematically discusses the history and future of Huangbo culture, it was officially published in 2020. It sorts through the origin, generation, evolution and contemporary value of Huangbo culture from a broad perspective, and presents the historical development of the culture from the past to the present. This book also connects the history of the ancient maritime silk road and the construction of the 21st century maritime silk road, and expounds the historical contribution and practical significance of Huangbo culture to the cultural exchanges between China and Japan. Finally, it focuses on the regional economic and cultural construction and Belt and Road Initiative.

Located in Fuqing, the birthplace of Huangbo culture, and the core area of the construction of "the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road", our university takes them as our responsibility and mission to strengthen the research on these topics and  promote the inheritance and innovation of local culture in Fuqing. Established in September 2017, Huangbo Culture and Maritime Silk Road Research Institute aims to give full play to the school's scientific research and talent advantages, develops  characteristics of local culture and the school’s reputation, promote the development of the school, and serve for national strategies. In recent years, the Institute has built a young research team and had many representative research achievements. 4 monographs have been published, more than 20 provincial and municipal social science planning projects have been approved, and over 20 academic papers have been adopted by the CPPCC National Committee and some other government departments.
