On May 17th, Chairman of the Ocean and Fisheries Committee of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, former Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and Professor of Bogor Agricultural University Rokhmin Dahuri, Vice Dean of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Bogor Agricultural University Dr. Fedi, Business Development Director of Paramount Enterprise Ms. Danes, and their delegation visited FPNU. Accompanying on the visit were Indonesian overseas Chinese leader Lin Naixuan, and Vice President of Tianma Science and Technology Group He Tengfei.
Professor Lai Hairong, Secretary of the FPNU Party Committee, warmly received Rokhmin Dahuri and the delegation on behalf of the university. Professor Jiang Xingshan, Vice President of FPNU, presided over the symposium, and the heads of the following FPNU divisions also attended the activities: International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Food and Biological Engineering, School of Oceanography, the Fujian Province-Indonesia Marine Food Joint Research and Development Center, and the China-Indonesia Industrial Cooperation Research Center.
FPNU Party Secretary Lai Hairong expressed a warm welcome to the guests. Professor Rokhmin Dahuri conveyed sincere greetings on behalf of Her Excellency Megawati Sukarnoputri, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Struggle and the fifth president of Indonesia. Secretary Lai Hairong also asked Professor Rokhmin Dahuri to convey his sincere greetings and blessings to Her Excellency Megawati Sukarnoputri. They reminisced about the pleasant scenes in 2018 when they met in Megawati Sukarnoputri’s official residence.
During the symposium, Secretary Lai Hairong briefly introduced the basic education situation of FPNU, its exchanges and cooperation with various sectors in Indonesia regarding the China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project in recent years, the enrollment of Indonesian students, and the establishment of Indonesian Language Major. He expressed the hope to further advance the matters outlined in the cooperation memorandum signed in 2021 with Bogor Agricultural University, to cooperate in teaching, research, and faculty and talent training, and to participate in the collaboration among the government, industry and academia in relation to the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project. Secretary Lai Hairong also expressed the desire to enhance relations, cooperation and communication with Indonesian enterprises like Paramount Enterprise to promote mutual development.
Professor Rokhmin Dahuri introduced the education condition of Bogor Agricultural University. Bogor Agricultural University, he mentioned, is a renowned institution in Indonesia and its development has received considerable attention from President Joko. As the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia and a top scholar in the international coastal and marine resource management, he elaborated on the tremendous potential of Indonesia for developing marine-related industries since it is an archipelago country rich in marine resources, and on the significance of cooperation and development in relevant fields between China and Indonesia. He stated that he would assist in promoting cooperation in education between the two universities.
Ms. Danes introduced the business scope of Paramount Enterprise and basic information about Matana University sponsored by the Group. She expressed her expectation to strengthen communication with FPNU and explore potential cooperation opportunities. Mr. Lin Naixuan praised the series of measures that FPNU had done to serve the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project. He pointed out that the establishment of Indonesian Language Major would provide talents needed for the commercial exchanges between China and Indonesia.
In the symposium, the participants watched the English promotional video of FPNU together and discussed the feasibility and the model of carrying out vocational training to meet the talent demands of Chinese and Indonesian enterprises.
On that afternoon, accompanied by Professor Jiang Xingshan, Professor Rokhmin Dahuri visited the Chinese Park of the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project and Yuanhong Functional Area in Fuzhou New District. They also visited Saneheld (Fuqing) Food Co., LTD., and King Dnarmsa Spirulina Co., LTD.
