On November 16th, Zhang Yan, member of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee and Minister of Publicity Department, visited our school for investigation and guidance.
In the school history exhibition hall, Zhang Yan expressed his happiness at our school’s achievements in recent years, and was full of confidence and expectation for FPNU to plan better development from a new starting point. He said, FPNU has made multiple leaps and bounds and achieved today’s success after 45 years of history, which is the result of the strong leadership of the university Party Committee, the active efforts of all staff and students, the care and guidance of the superior authorities, the generous support from all aspects of society, including overseas Chinese, local Party committees and governments, enterprises and peers in universities.
During the investigation, Zhang Yan attended the group lesson preparation meeting of Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, talking face to face with the teachers of ideological and political theory course. He stressed the need to study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, remembering the original intention of cultivating people for the Party and the country, grasping this lesson from a general perspective. And teachers should make ideological and political lesson good and vivid, explain clearly about Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era closely related to the reality. Besides, teachers should also insist on arming students with the Party's scientific theory, actively respond to what students think, and lead students to deepen their understanding about Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and to firmly follow the Party and to make their youth do their utmost in the hot practice of comprehensively building a modern socialist country. He hoped our school, as a university having been personally cared for and guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping, would be at the forefront in the curriculum construction of the Introduction. He encouraged FPNU’s teachers of ideological and political courses to reinforce confidence, strengthen theoretical research, deeply explain the ideological and political courses with feelings and lead the students to grow up healthily.
After listening to the reports on school situation from Secretary of FPNU Party Committee Lai Hairong and President of FPNU Liao Shenji, Zhang Yan put forward four points of guidance on our school development. First, we should study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress well, learn the important discourse on education of General Secretary Xi Jinping well, implement the national and provincial policies on development of higher education, vocational education, and promote school’s development to a new stage in a solid manner. Second, we should cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents and vocational teachers, adhere to the school characteristics as the only road to development, promote education and teaching reform, improve the quality of personnel training, and provide more excellent graduates for society. Third, we should grasp the phased characteristics and tasks of school development, promote the development comprehensively, systematically and continuously with coordination, carry forward the advantages, complement the shortages. Fourth, we should implement the Party’s policies on education and the guidance of the Party committees, comprehensively strengthen ideological and political work, implement the central Committee's 20 measures to further optimize epidemic prevention and control and the work requirements of the provincial Party Committee, and do a good job in epidemic prevention and school safety and stability.
Zhang Yan extended his congratulations on the 45th anniversary of FPUN and hoped that our school would make the 45th anniversary an important event with educational and cultural contents to further gather strength and resources as well as give new energy to the future development.
During the investigation, Zhang Yan was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Institute for High Quality Development of Vocational Education and inaugurated the institute.
