On September 27th, the School of Arts and Media was officially inaugurated, making it the first of its kind among the 23 public undergraduate universities in Fujian. FPNU has received congratulatory letters from College of Arts & Media of Tongji University, School of Art & Communication of Beijing Normal University, Academy of Art of Communication University of China and Fujian Academy.
The unveiling ceremony was held at Jintai Lecture Hall of the Science Building in Wumashan Campus. School leaders Lai Hairong, Liao Shenji, Lin Haifeng, Zhang Yi attended the unveiling ceremony, with Vice President Shang Guangmei presiding over the ceremony. Tang Wenzhong, Deputy Director of the National Culture and Art Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee and former Dean of Fujian Vocational College of Art; Chen Jie, director of Fujian Vocational Skills Appraisal Guidance Center; Bai Yonghua, director of Fujian Academy of Arts; Jiang Qi, Secretary of the Party General Branch of Art Education College of Fujian Preschool Education College; Chen Qin, Dean of Humanities and Management Minjiang Teachers College; Yang Song, Secretary of the General Party Branch of Fuzhou Tourism Vocational School; Chen Yubiao, vice president of Meizhouwan Technology School; Lin Huajing, vice president of Fuzhou Wenjiao Vocational Secondary School and other guests attended the event. The relevant departments of FPNU and the administrative leaders of the secondary colleges, all the faculty, staff and student representatives of the School of Arts and Media jointly participated in the unveiling ceremony.

In his speech, FPNU Party Secretary, Lai Hairong, expressed that the establishment of the School of Arts and Media is a significant and joyful event in the process of striving for first-class and accelerating the construction of a high-level technical normal university with distinctive characteristics. The establishment of the School is not only the internal need of FPNU to integrate resources, optimize the establishment of secondary colleges, promote the prosperity and development of the school's art and media-related professional education and scientific research, but also an important measure to strengthen the school's aesthetic education and serve the construction of a culturally strong province in Fujian Province. He hopes that the School will implement the fundamental task of establishing virtues and cultivating personnel, strive to become a "new battlefield" for personnel training, adhere to the leadership of party building, strive to create a "new atmosphere" for entrepreneurship and innovation, run the School with an open approach, strive to create a new image of diverse cooperation, and form characteristics, build brands, and expand influence in the fields of talent development in the cultural industry, cultural and creative achievements transformation, and teacher training as soon as possible.

The School of Arts and Media aims at cultivating applied talents with artistic creativity and media skills. It will uphold FPNU's motto of " Being virtuous, diligent, and seeking truth", adhering to the educational philosophy of "spreading art and pursuing the way, to the ultimate beauty and the goodness". The School will carry out in-depth research on the interaction and integration of traditional art and modern media and is committed to improving the quality of talent cultivation and the level of education and teaching. The college has four undergraduate majors: Advertising (normal), Network and new Media, Radio and television Directing (Art), and Arts and Crafts (Art), and the teaching and research section of Music and Dance.
After the unveiling ceremony, a seminar on the training of arts and media vocational teachers was also held. This seminar invited vocational education experts, scholars and teachers from various places in the province to jointly explore the education system and methods for vocational teacher training in the field of arts and media. Experts attending the meeting believed that art and media vocational education is an urgent need for high-quality development of the current society, and cultivating high-quality art and media vocational teachers is an important measure to promote the development of vocational education. The establishment of the School of Arts and Media will not only help to enhance the overall strength of FPNU, but also provide strong support for the vocational education in arts and media in Fujian Province. The attending experts also put forward constructive suggestions on the construction of the School of Arts and Media.
